Lasting durability starts with a chemical reaction.

Marvin’s extruded aluminum clad products feature Flurospar®—a fluoropolymar paint finish with 70% Kynar 500®. This advanced and extremely durable finish is standard on all Marvin clad products.

During manufacturing, a chemical bond is created between the extruded aluminum and the Flurospar paint to resist chalking and fading.

Before the finish is applied, Marvin’s aluminum cladding goes through a five-step pre-treatment process to ensure the finish adheres smoothly. And unlike roll-form aluminum, Marvin’s clad extrusions are formed first and then painted—this results in superior adhesion and a consistently thick finish so that your Marvin clad products will retain color and gloss for years to come.
Time Exposure—Chalking
Chalking is the breakdown of paint that creates a white powder to coat and dull the finish. These microscopic images illustrate the superior resistance to chalking that Flurospar with Kynar 500 has over standard finishes. Notice the heavy pitting that occurs over time which results in chalking.
