Marvin Entry Doors Adds Character Grade Cedro Macho

New option shows off the natural beauty of wood
WARROAD, Minn. – Marvin Entry Doors adds a new variation to its increasingly popular Cedro Macho Wood species: character-grade Cedro Macho.  A highly sought-after wood suitable for many architectural styles, Cedro Macho is made even more unique by a character-grade option.

Cedro Macho is a tropical hardwood, plentifully grown in the forests of Central America.  It has numerous attributes that make it a popular wood for entry doors.   Cedro Macho is distinguished by its warm reddish-brown color that naturally deepens over time.  Although a strong, durable wood, Cedro Macho lends itself well to hand carving and intricate woodworking.  It is stable and retains its original shape many years after installation.

Marvin Entry Doors has long offered stain-grade Cedro Macho to its customers.  With character-grade Cedro Macho, the wood’s naturally beautiful variation shines through.  Grain variations, knots and a blend of other distinct natural wood characteristics, make each door truly one-of- a-kind.

Character-grade Cedro Macho works well with a variety of architectural styles but is especially appropriate for Mediterranean, cottage and Southwestern architectural styles.  Although popular throughout the country, Cedro Macho is heavily used in the western and southwestern United States.

For those homeowners, builders and architects who desire an even more rustic look, Marvin Entry Doors offers a distressed option in Cedro Macho.  Marvin Entry Doors’ craftsmen hand distress the door to achieve a distinguished, weathered appearance.

Character-grade Cedro Macho is available on all of Marvin Entry Doors’ seven architectural styles, transoms and sidelites.  Since Marvin Entry Doors are completely customizable, homeowners can design the entry door of their dreams with Cedro Macho.

Along with Honduran Mahogany, Marvin Entry Doors made from Cedro Macho are FSC certified (certificate code SW-COC-003185).  The FSC chain of custody certification for Marvin Entry Doors’ tropical hardwoods speaks to the level of commitment that Marvin has for manufacturing and sourcing wood responsibly and sustainably.

“Character-grade Cedro Macho is a high-quality wood for entry doors,” says Brenda Baumann, Marvin Entry Door Marketing Manager.  “Offering a character-grade option gives new possibilities to those who appreciate the natural uniqueness of wood and want all the possibilities that Marvin Entry Door has to offer.”
