Round Top
Generally a semicircle window that is mulled to the top of another window or door, thus forming the round top appearance. There are full round tops, separated round tops, ellipticals, transoms, inverted corners, ovals and Gothic heads, etc. Round tops can be used separately or combined with other units to create a seemingly endless selection.
Panel
Either the stationary or operator wood frame with glass used on Marvin door products.
LoĒ-180 is glass that blocks heat loss to the outside and reflects heat back into the room, making it ideal for passive solar applications because it allows the winter sun’s heat to pass into the home.
LoDz-272® is glass that reduces damaging UV rays, reflects heat into the room in winter and rejects the sun’s warmth in the summer.
Lodz-366® is glass with three metallic layers of silver that reject solar heat, lowering cooling costs. It is recommended for warm climates or areas with intense sun exposure.
Tripane is a triple glass glazing with gas between the panes that is an add-on to the LoE glass options. Tripane is available with argon or krypton. Marvin’s newest offering, Krypton fill, offers remarkable insulating performance combined with the proven performance of Tripane construction.
An energy panel is a window glazing option that helps to further improve energy efficiency, especially on wood windows with single-glazed glass.
Storm and screen window combinations are movable panels that can be added to windows to improve energy efficiency.
Marvin builds energy efficiency into every window we create — virtually all Marvin products already meet or exceed federal ENERGY STAR® guidelines.
